Almost every call we take is one of these, and all six are done beside the vehicle.
Locked out of the car
Opened with air wedges and long reach tools. No coat hangers, no slim jims down the window seal, and nothing that leaves a mark on the paint or tears the weather strip.
Lost every key
A new key cut to the lock and programmed to the car, with no original needed. For most makes on the road this happens at the kerb rather than on the back of a tow truck.
Transponders and remotes
Chip keys coded to the immobiliser, remotes paired, and spare keys made so you are never one lost key away from a very expensive afternoon.
Ignition barrels
Worn barrels that will not turn, or ones that have been damaged in an attempted theft, repaired or replaced and matched to your existing key wherever possible.
Keys locked in the boot
We get into the cabin first and release the boot from inside on almost every vehicle, rather than forcing a boot lock that costs more than the call-out.

No. Air wedges and long reach tools work through the door frame without touching the glass, the seal or the paint. Damage is a sign of the wrong tools, not a hard job.
For most makes, no. We cut a new key to the lock and program it to the immobiliser at the kerb. A few very recent models are dealer-only and we will tell you that on the phone.
Usually substantially, and it does not include a tow. We quote the whole job before we leave so you can compare it against a dealer quote properly.
Photo ID and proof you own the car. Registration papers, insurance documents or the purchase paperwork. No exceptions, ever.
That is usually the transponder or the immobiliser rather than the cut of the key. We can test and reprogram on site.
